Dog Registrations

Dogs over three (3) months of age must be registered each year with the Shire of Carnamah as per requirements of the Dog Act WA 1976.

Only two (2) dogs shall be permitted to be registered at any one address. If you wish to register a third dog at any one premise a letter is to be written to Council seeking permission.

Dog registrations take effect from the 31st of October each year for the ensuing year. Registration may be for a one (1) or three (3) year period, or Lifetime.

2017/18 Registration Fees are as Follows:

12 Month Registration
Unsterilised: $50.00
Sterilised: $20.00

3 Year Registration
Unsterilised: $120.00
Sterilised: $42.50

Lifetime Registration
Unsterilised: $250.00
Sterilised: $100.00

Concessional Registration
Dogs used for droving or tending stock: 1/4 rate
Dogs owned by Pensioner Concession holders: 1/2 rate
Dogs owned by Seniors Card holders: 1/2 rate

Registrations After May 31
Unsterilised: $25.00
Sterilised: $10.00

Cat Registrations

As per the Cat Act 2011 that provides for the control and management of cats and promotes and encourages the responsible ownership of cats, cat owners are responsible for ensuring the following:

Cats over the age of six months must be sterilised (de-sexed) & micro-chipped;
Cats over the age of six months must be registered with their local government annually; and
Cats must wear a collar with identification and registration tags.

2017/18 Registration Fees are as Follows:

12 Month Registration
Sterilised: $20.00

3 Year Registration
Sterilised: $42.50

Concessional Registration
Dogs owned by Pensioner Concession holders: 1/2 rate
Dogs owned by Seniors Card holders: 1/2 rate

Registrations After May 31
Sterilised: $10.00

Lifetime Registration
Sterilised: $100.00
